  • “Everyone was so nice. I felt very good about the ability of both doctors.”

  • “I visited Orthopaedic Associates to analyze the swelling in my knee. I had undergone previous, major surgery on that knee, more than 20 years ago. That surgery was successful, and was done by Dr Macey. After an x-ray conducted by Orthopaedic Associates’ staff, Dr. Macey showed me the x-ray. He explained that my knee issue was not related to the previous surgery, and that it was a result of the aging process. I was prescribed medication for the swelling, and given a follow-up exam date. The medication solved the immediate issue, and the professional handling of the exam from all team members, left me very satisfied with my treatment.”

  • “It has been an excellent experience. I feel confident that with Dr. Watt’s care and guidance, my recovery will be as complete as physically possible.”
    – Robert J.
  • “I had a great experience. My granddaughter Kayleigh and I were taking a quick beach trip, prior to school starting. We live in Brentwood, Tennessee, and were staying in Destin. Within 2 hours of starting our vacation, she fell and broke her wrist. We were directed to Fort Walton’s Pediatric ER, and had a wonderful experience. There was a very short wait. A friend from Fort Walton recommended Dr. Tenholder. So we decided to make an appointment, instead of ending our vacation and driving back to Nashville to see an orthopaedic doctor. We were able to get in the next day, and get a waterproof pink cast that did not end our vacation.  Great experience, great care.”

  • “I suffered severely with knee pain each time I took a step. I was advised to have knee replacements. With the doctor’s advice, I decided to have the surgery on the left knee first, as it was causing the most pain. I had full confidence in Dr. Tenholder, and he scheduled the surgery. The surgery went well. About 2 weeks later, I fell, tearing the surgery loose, and the doctor had to replace it. Even with those complications, it healed perfectly. After the therapy, there has been no pain in that knee. Two years later, it was time to have the second knee replaced. It was successful, and after therapy, there has been no pain in that knee. I tell everyone that has knee pain to see Dr. Tenholder, that I think he is a wonderful surgeon, and a kind and considerate person. Having two knee replacements is the best thing that has happened to me. To once again be able to walk without pain is a miracle. Thank you, Dr. Tenholder.”

  • “I had a complete knee replacement on August 14, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Destin.  I didn't see or feel a thing during or after surgery. I still didn't have any pain!  The facility was wonderful, cheerful, and bright. Even the food was good. I didn't have the greatest appetite though. I came home with Gentiva Home Health Care, which was outstanding. It's been 3 and 1/2 weeks now, and my scar is hardly noticeable, thanks to Dr. Thackeray. He was great as was Dr. Macey before him. I opted to go out to Sacred Heart, as several friends recommended it. Glad I did, as it was an uplifting atmosphere. I am now going to outpatient rehab at Orthopaedic Associates, and looking forward to being back to normal soon.”

  • “I have been a patient of Dr. Tenholder for 2 years. Dr. Tenholder has always been a professional and very knowledgeable doctor. All of his staff is all skilled and courteous, especially PA, Rick Sneller and Malcomb Lightfoot. His receptionist Sherri Scott is always pleasant, and greets patients with a warm smile. I decided to have a total knee replacement surgery after the pain became unbearable. My husband and I had an appointment with Dr. Tenholder inquiring about a total knee replacement surgery. I was impressed with the amount of time Dr. Tenholder spent in discussing my condition and surgery procedures. He never seemed to rush, and he took the time to answer all our questions. Dr. Tenholder put me at ease about my knee surgery. I had my total knee replacement surgery August 12, 2014. He did such a good job. I was out of the hospital after two days. I was able to walk with a cane after week. I give credit to Dr. Tenholder for a successful surgery and fast recovery. I appreciate Dr. Tenholder's surgical skill. Dr. Tenholder is the only orthopaedic place to go for a professional and competent treatment. I have told this surgery success many times, to anyone seeking a competent and skilled orthopaedic doctor. I highly recommend their services to all I know. I've talked to many people at church, who are also Dr. Tenholder patients. They have nothing but good praise on Dr. Tenholder.”

  • “My experience can be described as excellent. The doctor and staff are great!”
    – Theresa D.
  • “Everyone that I met in this office was very polite and caring. The doctor was very polite and took the time to explain what was going on with my knee and ankle. I would refer Dr. Jason Thackeray to anyone.  It was a nice visit. Everyone seemed to be very Christian. :-)”
    – Tracy M.
  • “Had this little pain and it was from a worn out hip. Dr. Tenholder told me all about it. Then, after getting other things out of the way, I asked him to fix it. So he did. He fixed it, replacing the old thing with a new model. I behaved as well as I could after surgery, but it was working so well, I began walking distances really soon. At six weeks, I could walk four miles. Unlike two of my friends having similar procedures away from Destin, I have had no reasons to see the doctor again, except when I pass him on my way out of the office and thank him. Think I may try a back flip on my next birthday... My 75th.”
    – Bob S.
  • “This was my first opportunity to use one of the “in house” surgical suites and I was not disappointed.  Like everything else in their “purpose built” building, it was first class. I was well treated by the professional and courteous staff, who put my comfort and peace of mind at the top of the priority list, right along with practically seamless logistical flow from waiting room to pre-op, op and post-op. I will be getting my other knee repaired as soon as the first heals and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. The only thing I could add would be to bring a jacket. It can be quite cool on the surgical floor.”
    – David G.
  • “I am always pleased with the efficiency of all the staff as for scheduling appointments, or getting me to the right location to see the doctor. I recently saw Dr. Tenholder about what turned out to be a torn rotator cuff. He has replaced both of my knees in the past and I consider him to be a wonderful surgeon and a person. He and his assistant are such an asset to your practice.”

  • “We are snowbirds from Canada and are thrilled to enjoy the wonderful Destin Area during the winter months. A few years ago, my husband broke his ankle and was treated by Dr. Tenholder. My husband had surgery on his ankle and due to the skill and expertise of Dr. Tenholder, has never had a problem with his ankle. Recently, (this year) I sprained my knee while in Destin, and the hospital advised me to follow up with an orthopaedic surgeon.  Naturally, we chose Dr. Tenholder and again were very pleased with the results. He has a very pleasant demeanor, a good sense of humor, makes you feel at ease, and makes time to talk with you. All in all, our experience at your clinic was a very positive experience. Thank you.”
    – Betty N.
  • “I have been Dr. Mark Tenholder's patient for many years. He has operated on my left shoulder, removing a bone spur and repairing a torn rotator cuff with very good results. He also performed 3 knee surgeries on my left knee with the final one being a total knee replacement. He has monitored and treated my right knee through the years. My husband and I consider him the very best orthopaedic surgeon on the planet! I've seen Dr. Watt only twice but he has helped my arthritic hands and joints very much. I think he will eventually operate on them for me as well. I wouldn't have anyone else!”
    – Hilma B.
  • “Treated by Dr. Watt for "Trigger Finger.”  Condition has totally cleared. Hopefully, I'll never have to be treated for this again. You're office staff did a great job maintaining the doctor's schedules. I'm always very punctual with my appointments, but I'm shocked when a physician's practice is equally committed.  Thanks for your help.”
    – Kenny M.
  • “This whole experience has been very eye opening. Although I played multiple sports the majority of my life and have always been extremely active (especially outdoors), before this injury, I had never broken a bone. Every person I met who was involved in my process of recovery was exceptionally well-mannered, well trained, and comforting to be around, especially Dr. Watt. He made me feel as though everything would be okay no matter what steps we had to take. In my case, those steps meant surgery and possibly physical therapy. After following "doctor's orders" as best I could, my injury healed well enough that I didn't need additional physical therapy. The gentle reminder from Dr. Watt that I am not invincible was much needed and appreciated. :)  It's been a little over 3 months since my surgery with Dr. Watt and my wrist feels great! I would highly recommend Orthopaedic Associates to anyone and everyone. Thank You Dr. Watt! You Rock!! :)”

  • “Dr. Tenholder repaired a complete AC tear on my left shoulder. It was very professional, informative, and the staff was great as well. I am healing up wonderfully and would highly recommend him to anyone.”

  • “Last November, while decorating my Christmas tree at our home in Ohio, I slipped off the couch arm I was foolishly perched on and suffered a severe spiral fracture of my left upper arm. Even worse, I incurred damage to my radial nerve, resulting in no function in my left hand or fingers. I spent three days in the hospital after having my fracture set and traveled to the Emerald Coast in mid-January for our annual four-month stay here. My orthopedic surgeon in Ohio was against my going to physical therapy, insisting that I'd be fine in time.  Not only was I not getting better, by the time we arrived here, I was much worse! My hand and arm were grotesquely swollen and my elbow, shoulder, wrist, and fingers were stiffening up so bad, they could barely be moved. I knew I needed better care and on a local friend's recommendation, made an appointment with Dr. James Watt a few days after our arrival. He immediately took charge of my care and together with Orthopaedic Associate rehabilitation therapist, Matt Leary, has made a dramatic improvement in my recovery. Dr. Watt laid out a clear course of treatment and ordered nerve tests to determine precisely what was wrong with my radial nerve. Dr. Watt has been attentive and extremely professional and reassuring. Matt Leary has been absolutely wonderful with my physical therapy! I highly recommend them both!”

  • “Unfortunately, I have required the services of an orthopaedic specialist multiple times in the past 5 years due to injuries sustained during the course of my duties as a Deputy Sheriff. FORTUNATELY, the doctors and staff at Orthopaedic Associates have been there for me every time. Doctors Tenholder, Warburton, and Macey are my personal superheroes. I have had an ACL replaced, multiple meniscus repairs, a hip bursectomy, and some crazy stuff done to repair and correct major pain involving my sciatic nerve. Through it all and still, since I require annual check-ups, the doctors at Orthopaedic Associates have stood by me, giving me excellent medical care, and ensuring I got back to work as quickly as possible. I feel like the bionic woman who has been put back together by the most capable and personable team of surgeons available.  I am welcomed by name every time I come into an office or for physical therapy, and always feel like I am getting the full attention and best efforts of whomever I come in contact with.  They listen to your concerns and individualize your recovery plan to help you get up and going as soon as possible. The experience of surgery and rehab generally isn't a pleasant one, but the wonderful people at Orthopaedic Associates make it the best it can be.”

  • “I had a problem with my shoulder with arthritic pain. It reoccurs every 6 months or so. Rather than using the surgical option, I chose to have a shot. The treatment was carried out efficiently and with great care for my personal comfort. I have had other procedures by Dr. Thackeray in the past and would highly recommend him to anyone needing orthopaedic care. Thank you for this opportunity to provide my comments.”
    – Richard G.
  • “Each time I have gone to Dr. Macey, I feel as though I am the only patient that day.  They know my name and could not be more interested in helping me. I am back to running and working out without surgery because of new techniques that this office has available.  Dr. Macey has also performed surgery on my son with outstanding success. He truly cares!”

  • “I am a 79-year-old active male that has had two procedures with Dr. Theodore Macey of Orthopaedic Associates. The first was a right rotator cuff operation and the second was a right knee replacement. In both cases, I followed his given recovery procedures including physical therapy. In a minimum of time, was able to continue my physical activities that included, swimming and a full workout at the YMCA. Dr. Macey and his staff were very attentive and professional in every measure of merit. They were caring and helped me return to my usual active lifestyle.”

  • “Dr. Mark Tenholder did a fantastic job of saving and mending my broken leg!  It was broken in 8 pieces from my ankle to mid leg!  It took 18 screws and two titanium plates to repair.  Today, I ride a bicycle about 6 to 18 miles a day in good weather.  Thank you to all the staff for being so friendly and helpful in my recovery.  On cold, wet days, it hurts just like it just happened!  On nice days, it’s almost like the accident never happened.  I'm sure later I may be walking with a cane! I am grateful to be able to ride a bicycle daily and enjoy the outdoors! Thank you, very much!”

  • “I have needed to see several of the doctors in the group over the past few years. All have been great. You are always greeted with smiles when you enter the doors. Patient care is first class, from the first office visit thru rehab.”
    – Sandra W.
  • “I felt very comfortable as Dr. Macy fully explained the problem with my left knee, and the microscopic surgery that would correct the problem.  His explanation was complete to the point. He even explained the aftereffects of the surgery.  The nervousness I felt before my visit was completely gone as I left his office.”
