  • “I am being treated for a work-related knee injury which eventually resulted in surgery. I have had excellent treatment from everyone and will soon return to full duty work. My injury occurred the beginning of May, and I have been on light duty since July. I am grateful to Orthopaedic Associates for all they have done.”

  • “Although I am not the patient of Dr. Macey, I am the daughter of the parents who have needed Dr. Macey for knee replacements, hand surgery and now a complete shoulder replacement for my Mom, Lucy. Dr. Macey is very kind, personable and extremely good at his skill. He has a concise way to explain treatment leaving no questions unanswered. He does a great job with his bedside manor and recognizes personality flaws that need attention. He does an even better job remembering small, personal facts about his patients thus making them feel great.  My Dad, Nunzio had both knees replaced at the same time, my Mom had 1 knee replaced and tendons rerouted in her hand with great results. I consulted with Dr. Macey about eventually replacing my knee and will travel from North Carolina to have him do my surgery when the time is right. I have that much confidence in his skill to make the journey for he and his team to take care of me. His PA is also phenomenal. I trust and honor Dr. Macey and his staff very much as does my entire family. ”

  • “Dr. Macey is very personable. He took the time to explain what I can expect on my road to full recovery, and didn't end our appointment until he was sure that I understood all the do's and don'ts.    ”

  • “Being told that I needed a total hip replacement was hard. Dr. Macey spent a long time with me explaining what was wrong with my hip and what to expect from the surgery. My surgery went well and my recovery was exceptional. I am very happy that I had the surgery and am back to doing all the thing I love to do. Dr. Macey and his PA Scot Williams were fantastic through the whole experience. I would recommend them to anyone needing a hip replacement.”

  • “In 1992 I fell 16 feet off a ladder. My right ankle was shattered into 23 bone fragments. I was told by one doctor that it was just a matter of time until I lost my foot. Dr. Macey said he could fix it and that he did. It was a long surgery but he put it all back together with plates, pins and screws. I recovered and was able to walk once again. He told me much of the recovery was due to the fact that I did exactly what he told me to do and that I was a non-smoker. To this day when ever I see him he tells me that was the worst broken ankle that he has ever repaired. I owe it all to Dr. Macey. He's my hero.”

  • “I have been seeing Dr. Macey for a long time. He has treated my fractures, frozen shoulders, dislocations and bursitis. I cannot say enough good things about him. He has never failed to diagnose me with accuracy or treat me like I was his only patient. Over the years I have always felt I could rely and trust him as I would a good friend. His team also treats me with the same care. P.A. Williams is a great, he is as sharp as they come. His trusted tech that has put a few casts on my arm never misses a beat and is very kind and caring. In this day of managed care they still make it work. Thank you for caring for me.”

  • “Gradual deteriation of a hip joint caused debilitating pain and a loss of life quality. I became unable to walk without support and used a cane and rotator. A consultation with Dr. Macey and PA Williams gave hope that quality of life could be restored with replacement surgery. Following surgery and physical therapy, I am pain free and walking on my own. I am extremely grateful for skilled surgeons and excellent care.”

  • “No nonsense evaluation and care. Dr. Macey gets right to the point. I enjoy working with him and his professional demeanor. A good guy. I also recently was under Dr. Fusco's care and surgery. Surgery and recovery went as advertised...no problems. Another fine addition to your staff.”

  • “After having having the surgery and going through the recovery and PT, I do not know why I waited so long to get this surgery done. Now there is no pain, when before I was barely able to walk w/o so much discomfort .. I am about to where I was several years ago as far as being able to do the activities I enjoyed back then. The credit the entire medical staff with Orthopaedic Associates, along with the crew at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center during my stay there, and those with Select Physical Therapy .. all made my surgery a great success ... thank you again ...”

  • “I have been a patient of Dr. Macey's for more than twenty years. I am a retired nurse and I saw first hand how his patient's recovered from their surgery. He is a dedicated and brilliant orthopaedic surgeon. After a dancing accident I required prosthetic knees. Titanium was not really used at that time and those prostheses lasted thirteen years before I required a revision of my left knee in March of 2004 and then my right knee revision in October of that same year. Dr. Macey did a wonderful job. I never missed a days work as a nurse on my feet for more than eight hours at a time. And then again in January of 2006 I fell and required my left knee to be revised again. He is the reason I am still up and walking at age 77yrs. I could go on and on with the kudos's for this amazing man and his PA Scott and office staff but I would truly run out of space! I would trust him with my life.....to say the least!”

Everything he told me came true and I followed his advice to the letter, as it is so necessary to have all my limbs in good working order. Thank you Dr. Macey for getting me back to my normal way of life.”

  • “I visited Orthopaedic Associates to analyze the swelling in my knee. I had undergone previous, major surgery on that knee, more than 20 years ago. That surgery was successful, and was done by Dr Macey. After an x-ray conducted by Orthopaedic Associates’ staff, Dr. Macey showed me the x-ray. He explained that my knee issue was not related to the previous surgery, and that it was a result of the aging process. I was prescribed medication for the swelling, and given a follow-up exam date. The medication solved the immediate issue, and the professional handling of the exam from all team members, left me very satisfied with my treatment.”

  • “My experience can be described as excellent. The doctor and staff are great!”

  • “This was my first opportunity to use one of the “in house” surgical suites and I was not disappointed.  Like everything else in their “purpose built” building, it was first class. I was well treated by the professional and courteous staff, who put my comfort and peace of mind at the top of the priority list, right along with practically seamless logistical flow from waiting room to pre-op, op and post-op. I will be getting my other knee repaired as soon as the first heals and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. The only thing I could add would be to bring a jacket. It can be quite cool on the surgical floor.”

  • “Unfortunately, I have required the services of an orthopaedic specialist multiple times in the past 5 years due to injuries sustained during the course of my duties as a Deputy Sheriff. FORTUNATELY, the doctors and staff at Orthopaedic Associates have been there for me every time. Doctors Tenholder, Warburton, and Macey are my personal superheroes. I have had an ACL replaced, multiple meniscus repairs, a hip bursectomy, and some crazy stuff done to repair and correct major pain involving my sciatic nerve. Through it all and still, since I require annual check-ups, the doctors at Orthopaedic Associates have stood by me, giving me excellent medical care, and ensuring I got back to work as quickly as possible. I feel like the bionic woman who has been put back together by the most capable and personable team of surgeons available.  I am welcomed by name every time I come into an office or for physical therapy, and always feel like I am getting the full attention and best efforts of whomever I come in contact with.  They listen to your concerns and individualize your recovery plan to help you get up and going as soon as possible. The experience of surgery and rehab generally isn't a pleasant one, but the wonderful people at Orthopaedic Associates make it the best it can be.”

  • “Each time I have gone to Dr. Macey, I feel as though I am the only patient that day.  They know my name and could not be more interested in helping me. I am back to running and working out without surgery because of new techniques that this office has available.  Dr. Macey has also performed surgery on my son with outstanding success. He truly cares!”

  • “I am a 79-year-old active male that has had two procedures with Dr. Theodore Macey of Orthopaedic Associates. The first was a right rotator cuff operation and the second was a right knee replacement. In both cases, I followed his given recovery procedures including physical therapy. In a minimum of time, was able to continue my physical activities that included, swimming and a full workout at the YMCA. Dr. Macey and his staff were very attentive and professional in every measure of merit. They were caring and helped me return to my usual active lifestyle.”
    – Paul S.
  • “I felt very comfortable as Dr. Macy fully explained the problem with my left knee, and the microscopic surgery that would correct the problem.  His explanation was complete to the point. He even explained the aftereffects of the surgery.  The nervousness I felt before my visit was completely gone as I left his office.”

  • “In August, Dr. Macey did surgery on my rotator cuff.  He advised me of the procedure and time frame in recuperating. The surgery was done as an outpatient. Everything went as he had told me.  During the whole surgery part, Dr. Macey was outstanding in every way. You couldn't ask for any better care. I immediately started physical therapy and began my way back to being free of pain and worry. The doctor told me it would be about four months to get back to normal, and that was just about right on the nose.  I would highly recommend Dr. Macey and Orthopaedic Associates for any of your orthopaedic needs.”
