Orthobiologics

At Orthopaedic Associates, we offer orthobiologic therapy, an innovative, nonsurgical treatment that uses components derived from a patient’s own body, like platelets, to help support the body’s natural healing process.

How Orthobiologic Therapy Works

This process starts by withdrawing a small amount of blood from your arm. The sample is processed to concentrate specific biological components. The prepared orthobiologic is carefully injected into the targeted area, where it may induce the release of growth factors and stimulate rapid healing.

Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities soon after the procedure. Depending on the condition, results may develop gradually over several weeks or months.

Benefits of Orthobiologic Therapy

Orthobiologic therapy offers a conservative, nonsurgical treatment approach that may be used for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including arthritis, tendon injuries, fractures, and other joint and soft-tissue issues. Potential advantages of this treatment may include:

  • Accelerated Healing – May enhance the body’s natural repair processes and support tissue recovery.
  • Reduced Pain & Inflammation – Can potentially help ease discomfort associated with joint, tendon, and ligament injuries
  • Improved Function & Mobility – May support joint and soft-tissue health to help improve movement
