My Comeback Story: Chipp M.
I am a retired medical doctor and am more than thrilled to tell my story. For two years, I hobbled around as if I was a hundred years old. I was in constant pain, gaining weight because of inability to exercise, and having difficulty with common everyday tasks such as getting up from a chair, taking out the trash, or simply walking in a market. I couldn’t even put on my own socks! Upon recommendation from a fellow doctor friend, I went to see Dr. T. Jacob Seales . After a brief exam and xray, I was recommended for a total right hip replacement. I managed to sideline my anxiety and scheduled the surgery after getting various medical clearances from my primary doctor and cardiologist. The day arrived and I was at the hospital at 6:30 AM. The miracle robotic surgical procedure was done in a little over an hour. I was bearing weight on the new hip in the recovery area and was home by 10 am. Post operative pain was mild so I didn’t need much of the optional prescribed pain medications. There was a prescribed mandatory medication protocol which I followed as per instructions. Physical therapy was initially provided at home for 2 weeks after which I attended therapy at the Destin office location. I continued outpatient physical therapy for 2 months. I am now about 8 months post procedure and have full mobility and literally have no pain and am pretty close to full range of motion without any restrictions. Having this surgery with Dr. Seales was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The procedure, the doctor, and the whole experience far exceeded my expectations and I am more than grateful for the great care provided. It gave me a new active life that I didn’t know would be possible when I started this journey . Thank You to Dr. Seales, and the Orthopedic Associates team for such great care!
