Joint Replacement & Revision

Joint replacement and joint revision surgeons are specialty-trained specialists who focus their medical practice on diagnosing and treating joint-related injuries and conditions. These surgeons have the skills required to perform not only joint replacement surgery, a procedure where a damaged joint is replaced with an artificial implant, but also joint revision surgery, a surgery where an artificial joint is removed and replaced with a new implant.

At Orthopaedic Associates, our joint replacement and revision doctors, Dr. Jason ThackerayDr. Mark TenholderDr. James WattDr. T. Jacob SealesDr. David DeanDr. Mark AwantangDr. Nicholas CrossmanDr. Chad Mitchell, and Dr. Jake Hawkins, are recognized experts in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and conditions of the joint. Our joint replacement and revision doctors have extensive training in the surgical care of joints and are dedicated to providing you with the specialized, compassionate care you need to become stronger.

Expert Joint Care for a Stronger You

During an exam, our doctors will ask the patient details about their joint-related problem. They may also request an X-ray or additional tests to better understand the injury. Once they determine the diagnosis, our joint replacement and revision specialists will create an individualized treatment plan specific to the patient's needs.

When our doctors and surgeons develop a treatment plan for a patient with a joint problem, their first step is always to consider nonoperative treatments first. Sometimes, there are nonsurgical options available, such as physical therapy, ultrasound-guided injections, or anti-inflammatory medication, that can provide relief for a patient's joint pain. However, sometimes the patient's joint issue will not respond to nonsurgical treatment options or becomes so problematic that surgery is recommended as the best choice.

If joint replacement surgery is the best option for you, our board-certified and specialty-trained joint replacement surgeons will work with you to create a surgical treatment plan that is right for your injury or condition. Our surgical team is equipped with state-of-the-art technology as well as the knowledge and surgical skills needed to treat your joint pain and get you on the road to becoming stronger.

Having undergone extensive training, our surgeons are highly skilled and are considered experts in the following joint replacement surgeries and joint revision procedures:
