Fall Prevention

Falls are the leading cause of injury death among individuals who are over 65 years of age.

Approximately 300,000 Americans over the age of 65 break their hips each year, and current studies show that up to 33% of them die within one year.

When was the last time you were checked for potentially unknown balance or dizziness problems?

Each year, more than 1/3 of Americans age 65 and older will experience a fall, and balance-related falls account for more than half of all accidental deaths in the elderly.

A variety of disorders, occupations, illnesses, and populations may be affected by balance problems, including:

  • Amputees
